The beach and island in Key Biscayne
The Key Biscayne Island is connected to Miami for the Rickenbacker Causeway which is
a bridge of 6km road that passes over the sea. A trip to Key Biscayne becomes
very enjoyable because the view of the road is really incredible and the
feeling to be over the sea too. You can feel a little sense of who makes the
trip to the beach paradise of Key
West which is 3 hours away from Miami in suspension bridges but the
beach Key Biscayne is much closer to Miami
only about 30 minutes from Downtown. The island is surrounded by
beautiful and very calm water beaches that are great to spend the day and enjoy
the climate of Florida.
One of the most
popular places in Key Biscayne is Bill Baggs natural park which has an amazing
nature and a beautiful beach. It is there that the famous Cape Florida Lighthouse which is a huge lighthouse that was built in
1825 and is considered the oldest building in the south of Miami. A part of the beach is pretty empty and the nature
predominates but with the growth of the region we can already see enough
buildings and condominiums being built there. The closer you are from
Lighthouse Bill Baggs beach gets emptier. The landscape is beautiful being
surrounded by dunes and nests of sea turtles everywhere. It also has tables, chairs
and even grills to make a picnic or a barbecue which is very common in the United
States primarily in Florida.
On the island of Key
Biscayne is the Miami Seaquarium
which is a giant aquarium with hundreds of marine species and has an arena
where shows of whales, dolphins, seals and many other marine animals do
performers. It is also an area of animal protection where are preserved the Manatee
friendly which is kind of a giant manatee. Worth a stop by there and the ticket
is not expensive. Can
you go in the aquarium in the morning and enjoy the rest of the day on the
beaches of Key Biscayne.
Another beach in Key
Biscayne is the Hobie Beach which is
just at the beginning of the island. It is a sweet place full of trees and
picnic tables. The sand is white and the water is crystal clear. In the
northern part of Key Biscayne there is a entrance to the island for the Crandon Park which is a beach with lots
of trees, animals and even tennis courts. The Crandon Park has many dunes and
mangroves where turtles, shrimp, crabs, starfish and other animals live. Key
Biscayne is one of the best
beaches in Miami.
